So, as the Conservatives prepare to leave the stage, we are treated to a final curtain call of sleaze and corruption with serious allegations of illegal betting on the date of the election.
One last performance for Tory chancers to use their time in office for personal financial gain.
Surely a huge relief for us all to know this tawdry show is finally reaching the end of its run.
