A SPATE of Hampshire village burglaries have sparked a police appeal.

On Thursday, June 20, three incidents involving cars were reported from Compton and Shawford. 

Police are now appealing for information. The incidents were: 

  • Between 12.01am and 6.30am on Thursday June 20, entry was gained to a locked garage and side window at a property on Clease Way. A phone, a wallet containing bank cards, cash and car keys have been reported stolen (44240259096).
  • At around 1.10am on Thursday June 20, entry was gained to a Kia car on Clease Way. An untidy search was carried out and £5 cash was stolen (44240259292).
  • At around 4.30am on Thursday June 20, entry was gained to a property on Shawford Road, Shawford. Car keys were stolen from inside the property. The suspects were disturbed and fled the scene (44240259177).

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: “No vehicles have been reported stolen. Since these incidents – which are believed to be linked – were reported to us, officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries and would like to ask the public if they have any information that may help the investigation.

“Were you in the areas at the times mentioned above? Did you witness any suspicious behaviour? Do you have any doorbell, CCTV or dashcam footage that may help?
