A WINCHESTER man has been banned from the road for three years for drink driving.

Brendon Matavire, of Honeysuckle Close, Badger Farm, was caught on The Avenue in Southampton on Monday, April 22.

Matavire, 25, had 93mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, meaning he was more than double the limit of 35mg.

He pleaded guilty at Southampton Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 30. 

Matavire was handed a one-year community order with five rehabilitation days and 80 hours of unpaid work.

As well as getting a three-year driving ban, he must pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114. This has to be paid by June 27.
