MICHELDEVER Station Community Heritage Weekend will take place from Saturday, July 6 to Sunday, July 7.

Starting at 1pm on Saturday, there will be a hog roast at the Warren Field, with vegetarian options available from The Dove Inn. Alongside this there will be a display of local vehicles, including agricultural vehicles, steam vehicles and some from the Ellis Journey. There will also be a showing of the original Genevieve film in the Warren Hall at 2pm.

On Sunday, at 8.30am, the first car will leave Micheldever Railway Station car parm to complete the 2024 Ellis Journey to Datchet near Windsor. The departure will be accompanied by music from the Alresford Ukelele Jam, with coffee, tea and bacon baps being served at the Dove Inn. Following this there will be a presentation at 10am of community street art with the Mayor of Winchester Cllr Russell Gordon-Smith in attendance.

THE next Micheldever Village Lunch will be held at Northbrook Hall, Duke Street, on Wednesday, July 3.

The cost is £5 for a freshly prepared two-course lunch, a glass of sherry or wine and coffee. It is a very sociable occasion where old friends meet and new friends are made.

Transport can be provided for those without their own vehicles or for the less mobile of attendees.

BLOOM Baby Classes Winchester & Andover are now offering classes in Sutton Scotney. The classes will take place in the Victoria Hall on Tuesday mornings. Bloom Baby Classes is also offering everyone a chance to try their classes for free – visit the Bloom Baby Classes website and use the code "TRYUS" for a free PAYG session.

SOUTH Wonston Primary School PTA is holding a car boot sale on Saturday, June 22.

Sellers can arrive from 9.30am, with it costing £7.50 for car pitches and £10 for van pitches. Buyers can arrive from 10.30am – entry costs 50p per person, with under 16’s entering free. To book a pitch, email southwonstonpta@gmail.com.

THE South Wonston Parish Council Summer Fete will take place on Sunday, July 7.

Kicking off at 12noon, there will be a range of attractions, including a circus, dog show, music, llamas, food and drink, stalls, a bouncy castle and more.

MICHELDEVER Village Fete will return on Saturday, July 20.

This year the fete will be at the Lord Rank Playing Field, raising funds for the maintenance of St Mary’s Church, Micheldever. There will be a variety of stalls, including bric a brac, plants, tombola, spirits, children’s games, books, bottles and more. There will also be a tea tent and a BBQ.

The arena will feature a dog show as well as traditional family competitions.

TICKETS are still available for the new Micheldever Variety Players show, Agatha Christie’s “A Murder is Announced”. The play will be at Northbrook Hall from Wednesday, July 3 to Saturday, July 6 with two performances on Saturday.

Tickets cost £13, or £10 for concessions, and can be purchased online or from the Micheldever Village Shop.
