THE General Election has caused a large number of Winchester City Council meetings to be cancelled.
The election, on July 4, has caused seven meetings to be scrapped.
A city council spokesman confirmed that the General Election was the reason for the cancellations.
Two meetings after the election have also been scrapped.

The cabinet committee - housing, originally on July 8, has been moved to September. The Kings Barton Forum on July 9 was only a placeholder in case there was business to discuss.
Between June 13 and July 4, only the cabinet meeting on June 19 has not been cancelled.
The full list of cancellations are: June 13 licencing sub-committee and Winchester Town Forum; June 17 licensing and regulation committee; June 18 cabinet committee regeneration; June 27 West of Waterlooville Forum; July 1 economy and housing policy committee; and July 2 health and environment policy committee.
