OWSLEBURY Parish Council is looking for volunteers to help set up a community speed watch. 
Community Speed Watch is a national initiative where members of the local community help the police to monitor the speeds of vehicles using speed detection devices. 
The parish council is encouraging people interested in committing a few hours a month to email owsleburyparishcouncil@gmail.com. 
It will involve a one-hour training session with the police which can be completed virtually via Zoom. A minimum of three people are needed at the roadside for each session. 

AN Otterbourne pub is holding a family fun day this weekend.
It will be held at The White Horse from 12pm on Saturday, June 22. 
There will be live music, a magician, face painting, wood-fired pizzas, an outdoor bar and more.

A BARN dance is coming to Owslebury. 
It will be held at Dell Croft on Saturday, July 20 starting at 6.30pm. 
The organisers said: “Gather your friends and family for an unforgettable evening of music, dancing and laughter.

“Lively tunes and expert dance instruction from local Ceilidh band Rufus Return, everyone can join in on the action and enjoy the atmosphere. No experience necessary. Full instruction from a live dance caller.”

TWYFORD Parish Hall is hosting a bingo night. 
It will be held on Friday, June 21 from 7pm.
Tickets cost £30 which includes a curry from Gandhi's in Winchester. The first bingo sheet is free. Dessert costs £2.50. There will be a raffle and bake sale. 
Funds raised will be donated to a local teenager for an expedition to Ecuador to help indigenous villagers by providing them with essentials such as clean water stations, schools, houses and sanitation systems.

COLDEN Common's annual community event will be held this weekend.
Common Have A Go will be held on Saturday, June 22 from 12pm-4pm at the Recreation Ground in Main Road. 
There will be live music, entertainment, hot food, sweet treats, stalls, rides and lots more.

COLDEN Common Community Centre is recruiting a new assistant.
The post is eight to 10 hours a week and is based at the community centre.

THE Otterbourne Summer Festival is fast approaching. 
It will be held on Sunday, June 23 at Oakwood Park Recreational Ground from 12pm to 3pm. 
The free event will have a BBQ, bar, ice cream, live music and dance stage. 
There’ll also be farm animals, Inflataplanet and games a plenty to entertain the kids. 
Organisers are also encouraging people to bring a picnic blanket or deck chairs and make an afternoon of it. 

OTTERBOURNE Village Hall is hosting an information day about dementia. 
The event will be held on July 1 from 9.30am - 3.30pm.
Forever Young Dementia Day Care is a service which provides activities for people living with dementia. It also gives them the opportunity to make new friends and socialise.
