Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists in Winchester has appointed Matt Root as the new hospital director.
Mr Root brings extensive experience from the human dentistry and orthodontics sectors, as well as holding senior retail management positions.
A keen dog enthusiast, Mr Root chose to move to the veterinary field to make a positive impact in a service-centric environment.
As part of his role, he will devise future growth strategies for Anderson Moores while maintaining the animal hospital's high standards.
Off duty, he relishes walking with his spouse and three dogs, in addition to keeping active.
Mr Root said: "Although I’ve only just walked through the doors at Anderson Moores, I can clearly see why it has an enviable reputation for providing some of the highest quality veterinary care in the UK and I’m very excited to be its hospital director.
"I also hope joining the veterinary profession will be good for the soul by working with both animals and humans in a caring environment.
"I’m really looking forward to meeting all the team members and learn from them. It’s obvious that they all have the utmost passion and expertise which has created a great team spirit here at the animal hospital."
