We could not mount such an operation now. Maybe the 25,000 French civilian deaths would not matter to the powers that be, but once we crossed the Rhine and German civilians started dying the UN would call a halt.

Back then the Nazis were the elected government, who then stopped elections. The majority of the German population supported them, even aware of the treatment of Jews, until the War looked like a lost cause.

The government of Gaza attacked Israel with popular support. The rules seem to have changed, has my father gone from a war hero with a lifetime of PTSD, to a war criminal?
