Kingsmead Day Nursery has been sold after its original owner decided to retire.
Helen Gaskell sold the nursery for an undisclosed price to Grandir UK, which runs 83 nurseries across the UK.
Ms Gaskell established the nursery in 1989 after her children were born. They have helped her with the business in recent years. Originally the nursery was in Kingsgate Street, St Cross, until the building was sold and it moved to Hyde.
Thousands of children have been cared for by Kingsmead over the last 35 years.
The nursery, located on Gordon Road, accommodates for up to 57 children at any one time and has been recognised for providing quality provision with a platinum #justquality award.
