With the European Championships less than a week away, we have had a look at some of the best places in Winchester to get a drink and settle down as the footy begins.

Millions of supporters across England are expected to watch as England open their Group C campaign against Serbia at 8pm on Sunday, June 16.

The Three Lions will be hoping to get off to a winning start and pick up points in their second game against Denmark later in the week, before facing Slovenia on Tuesday, June 25 for their final group-stage fixture.

England fans will be hoping for the luck of the Irish when visiting O'Neill's in the city centre. The pub hosts numerous sports and music events throughout the year, and the Euros will be no different in 2024.

Alfies - 157 High Street

Situated in the centre of Winchester, opposite the Guildhall, Alfie's is a great spot for a long evening with friends and a pint in hand. The pub boasts a snug area and a lovely beer garden which is sheltered in part, just in case the ever reliable British weather takes a turn for the worst.

Bakers Arms will be showing Euro games throughout the tournament, inviting locals to 'enjoy the football atmosphere' with friends and family. No matter which country you're backing, the pub will be showing all of the big games.
