AN inquest has opened in Winchester into the death of a man whose body was discovered at sea three years ago.
The body of Cyrille Douchin, 29, of Creully sur Seulles, France, was recovered by the cruise ship Spirit of Discovery off the coast of Salcombe, Devon, on September 23, 2021, the court heard.

Senior coroner Christopher Wilkinson opened the inquest at Winchester Coroners’ Court on Monday, June 10, 2024.
Mr Wilkinson said that Mr Douchin’s body was discovered in a diving suit, and that it was heavily decomposed. His cause of death is unascertained.
A full inquest into Mr Douchin’s death will take place on November 27.
