A volunteer for cardiac charity Heartbeat has been recognised for a decade of volunteering.
John Hartigan, who has given up his time for over 10 years, was given a complimentary hotel stay by Room to Reward for his service.
Supporting the Wessex Cardiac Unit of University Hospital Southampton, Mr Hartigan has saved the team approximately 250 hours a year through various responsibilities.
His work includes raising awareness of the charity, assisting at events, supporting with miscellaneous office tasks and consistently checking if the team requires further assistance.
He has also raised more than £15,000 for the charity over the years.
Mark Ind, CEO of Heartbeat, said: "John is always on hand to give up his spare time to volunteer in supermarkets for us, not just in his local community but also the next county along too."
He added: "John’s dedication is just amazing, and he’s an invaluable asset for the charity.
"We are hugely appreciative to Room to Reward for this wonderful way to show our appreciation to John."
Adam Terpening, Room to Reward's director said: "John is exactly the kind of Hidden Hero Room to Reward was created to recognise, and we look forward to arranging his break."
