THE popular Perfect Pitch lunchtime concerts in The Chapel of St Cross Hospital started again in April.

In the concerts given so far, young musicians from primary school age, to those from sixth form colleges and the Royal Academy of Music have distinguished themselves to the delight of large and appreciative audiences.

However, despite the apparent positive position in Winchester, 94 per cent of children in the UK do not have the opportunity to play a musical instrument. The Friends of Music in Winchester, whose patrons and chairman are great supporters of the Perfect Pitch concert series with its emphasis on featuring young musicians, join with St Cross Hospital to provide a valuable opportunity and encouragement at the start of their musical journey.

Perfect Pitch concerts are free to attend, each Thursday at 12.30pm until October 31.
