I live and work with vulnerable people in the Winchester community for the NHS providing and supporting them with having their needs met to have the safety security and autonomy they need to thrive.

I enjoy my work and find great motivation in offering the interventions needed for individuals to turn their lives around.

Winchester is a community that has multi-agency co-operation in place and is successfully implementing the strategies needed for the population I serve.

My issue is that I can, quite rightly work with the city council and other housing providers to offer safe secure accommodation for these individuals but at the same time have been on the housing register and bidding for properties for a number of years whilst currently residing in privately rented temporary accommodation, in essence, I strive to avoid for my clients.

In the past, professionals such as myself had accommodation provided that offered them the safe base needed to support the vulnerable communities they served, that need still exists, there are many healthcare and other essential service providers who cannot afford to purchase their own homes and are being denied the security they need to offer security for others.

I do hope that this can be brought to the attention of those that can bring the changes.
