Shawford Springs care home residents enjoyed a special boat cruise recently, courtesy of Solent Dolphin Charity.
Led by a knowledgeable skipper, they set sail from Hythe Marina, learning about Southampton Water's landmarks.
Particularly delighted was resident, Richard, recognising a crew volunteer from his erstwhile butcher's shop days in Chandlers Ford.
Richard said: "It was lovely catching up and having a chat with one of the regular customers, it bought back lots of happy memories for me of when I ran the shop."
Cassie Munnoch, general manager of Shawford Springs, said: "Our residents had a whale of a time on the riverside cruise. Adventures that take place outside of the home are a regular event for the residents, and we always ask for ideas on where they would best like to go.
"The day was a lot of fun, residents were able to enjoy a beautiful day on the river which was quite therapeutic, and thankfully the weather was beautiful."
