Winchester City Festival Choir is looking forward to getting into the spirit of ‘West Side Story’ and other show tunes for our ‘Summer Sing’ on Wednesday evenings from June 12.

There will be a performance and bring and share supper on Wednesday July 3. It is to be an exciting experience led by our local composer ‘Oli’ Oliver Tarney who has an adventurous approach and makes us laugh.

We welcome anyone who would like to join us, there are more details on our website at wcfchoir.org/ or contact secretary@wcfchoir.org. We would love to encourage new singers to join us and are offering this opportunity free to those aged 18 to 30.

We are looking forward to new developments with a new conductor and musical director, as sadly we’ve said goodbye to Paul du Plessis-Smith who is leaving to concentrate on his new full time teaching post. We did some wonderful singing with him, the highlight being our centenary concert singing Haydn’s ‘Creation’ and Oli’s ‘O Lord, Our Lord’.

Our new conductor will join us in September, we will be singing carols in December and our next concert in January.
