WONSTON Community Café managed to raise £407 for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The money was raised at the monthly café at the Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney on Wednesday, May 15. Alongside the usual coffee and home-made cake from volunteers, Lucy, a representative from Air Ambulance, was on hand to answer questions, and also had a stock of wristbands and dog leads advertising the charity, which she handed out.

The next Wonston Community Café will take place on Wednesday, June 19th from 9.30am to 12noon. It will be raising funds for Scots Tots, the Sutton Scotney Baby and Toddler group running every Friday in term time 10am-11.30am at the Victoria Hall.  This is a small, local group offering play, craft, companionship and refreshments for babies, toddlers, parents and carers.

All cakes are homemade, and parking is free. The café is cash only.

GRATTONBURY Music Festival will be returning to The Gratton, Sutton Scotney on Saturday, June 15. The event will run from 5.15pm to 11.30pm and will feature live music, a bar and hot food.

SOUTH Wonston Primary School PTA is holding a car boot sale on Saturday, June 22.

Sellers can arrive from 9.30am, with it costing £7.50 for car pitches and £10 for van pitches. Buyers can arrive from 10.30am – entry costs 50p per person, with under 16’s entering free. To book a pitch, email southwonstonpta@gmail.com.

THE Dever Society AGM will be held at The Warren Centre, Micheldever Station, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, June 11. After formal business, there will be a talk from the group promoting a possible new North Hampshire Downs Area of Natural Beauty.

THE next First Sunday of the Month walk will take place on Sunday, June 2.

The four-mile walk, which is being held in memory of the Swing Riots, will start at Victoria Hall Car Park, Sutton Scotney, before heading along mostly flat views along the Dever Valley.

As the Swing Rioters did, the walkers will then be able to take refreshment in Sutton Scotney at approximately 1pm. Dogs are welcome on the walk, with a suggestion donation of £5 per person. Children can join the walk for free. For more information, contact Sue Bell on suebell0906@gmail.com.

THE East Stratton Fete and Dog Show will take place on Saturday, June 1 from 1pm to 4pm.

The village fete will be held on the village green opposite The Northbrook Arms in East Stratton.

There will be a range of genuine family entertainment for all ages with a wide range of stalls and sideshows, a barbecue and Pimms bar, a children’s entertainer, tractor & trailer rides, jazz band and fun dog show, as well as a grand draw with numerous prizes. Car parking and entry is free.

MICHELDEVER Village Fete will return on Saturday, July 20.

This year the fete will be at the Lord Rank Playing Field, raising funds for the maintenance of St Mary’s Church, Micheldever. There will be a variety of stalls, including bric a brac, plants, tombola, spirits, children’s games, books, bottles and more. There will also be a tea tent and a BBQ.

The arena will feature a dog show as well as traditional family competitions.

TICKETS have been released for the Micheldever Variety Group’s latest performance. The group will be performing A Murder Is Announced at Northbrook Hall from July 4 to July 6.
