ROMSEY is preparing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
The landings, on June 6 1944, were the largest seaborne invasion in history.
Along with the airborne operations, it marked the beginning of the liberation of France and western Europe.

The commemorations, organised by the local branch of the Royal British Legion, will start at 12pm on Thursday, June 6.
Town Crier Terry Hamer will give a proclamation in the Market Place, by the statue of Lord Palmerston.
After this, people will make their way to the Memorial Park where wreaths will be laid by Royal British Legion chairman Peter Hurst, Mayor of Romsey John Parker and others.
