A NEW house can be built on the site of a Hampshire plant nursery after plans were permitted.

Mr and Mrs Pocock's scheme was approved at Pococks Roses, Jermyns Lane, in Ampfield.

Despite the plan getting an objection from Ampfield Parish Council, it was unanimously permitted by Test Valley Borough Council's southern area planning committee on Tuesday, May 21.

The applicants' agent Mark Sennitt said: “The house will be set back about 70m from the highway. The visual impact will be very minimal. There are no objections from local residents which shows it integrates well.”

Cllr Alan Dowden said: “The house will hardly be seen. I'm more than happy to support it.”
