A fundraising event held by a charity providing support to people through art raised almost £1,000.

Prescription Art Test Valley's fundraising evening at Braishfield Church Rooms on Thursday, May 9, was entertained by sea shanties from the Southampton Salty Sea Dogs. 

The night raised £987.43.

Jill Wilson, chairperson of Prescription Art Test Valley, said: "We are delighted, thanks to the generosity of our supporters we can continue to provide free classes which are prescribed by local GPs and health professionals."

The small charity offers free art classes to residents dealing with anxiety, depression, loneliness, and bereavement. The classes are free and are prescribed by GPs and health professionals.
