The history of Romsey has been discovered in videos uploaded to YouTube.
We have found old documentaries that show the town as it was during the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.
Let's take a trip down memory lane, looking at the old culture of Romsey compared to the town nowadays.
The first video we found on YouTube, narrated by John Arlott, shows Romsey as it was in the 1970s.

The video shows the iconic landmarks to be found in Romsey, showing the Abbey, Broadlands House and King John’s hunting lodge, which had recently turned into a museum during this time.
The next video shows how Romsey looked and felt during the 1980s.
This video gave the authentic, nostalgic feel of how Romsey was in 1986.
It shows the busy town centre, specifically the market where many people are browsing the stalls which are are selling fruit, veg and clothes according to the footage.
The camera is close to the people, and you get a good look at the different fashions and characteristics of people in this time.

The final video is a short documentary showing how people lived in Romsey during the 1990s.
This YouTube video, hosted by legendary English cricketer David Gower, shows how people lived and how people thought in Romsey, thirty years ago.
In the video, David Gower speaks to a variety of residents around the town, as well as showing different traditions that still lived throughout that time.
