ADVENTURER and TV personality Jordan Wylie will be talking about his latest expedition in a bid to raise money for a good cause.

Jordan, who lives in Whitchurch but is from Alresford, became a household name through Channel 4's hit shows Hunted and Celebrity Hunted, gaining recognition for his volunteering for charity and education.

This commitment led to his award of an MBE, having raised over a million pounds and contributing to the establishment of a school in the Horn of Africa.

Jordan, 40, has just completed an epic charity eco-triathlon, dedicated to nine-year-old Jordan Banks, who died after being struck by lightning while playing football.

The former soldier made the journey by cycling a wooden bicycle, paddling a kayak made from recycled plastic bottles, and running up to 3,000km.

The Tower Power Challenge left from Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy on Wednesday, April 17, travelled past the Eiffel Tower in France, and ended on May 17 at Blackpool Tower.

During his journey he conducted virtual assemblies to more than 10,000 children, and camped for 27 nights, and raised more than £12,000 for the Army Cadet Charitable Trust, of which £3,500 will be distributed to pay for a memorial wall for Jordan Banks in Blackpool.

He will speak about his expedition and the challenge at an event organised by Winchester Rotary in aid of Winchester Hospice and Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK.

An evening with Jordan Wylie MBE will be at the Theatre Royal Winchester on July 16 at 7pm. Tickets cost £25. Go to theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk to book.

A spokesperson said: "Join us for an evening of adventure with purpose, where Jordan will be fresh from his latest expedition, an eco-triathlon across Europe.

"Jordan will be sharing the highs and lows of a life in some of the most remote, complex and hostile environments on the planet."

As well as his adventurer career and TV celebrity status, Jordan also served in the British Army with The King's Royal Hussars from 2001 to 2010.

His book Citadel, which describes his journey from a Blackpool council estate to becoming a soldier and working as a private military contractor, became a Sunday Times bestseller in 2017. He has since written books called Running for my Life and The Power of the Paddle, as well as publishing a colouring book with his daughter called Around The World With Evie & Jordan
