THERE are plenty of events in Winchester to attend this summer.

You may feel spoilt for choice, so here are five to get you started.

  1. Mucky Weekender Festival will be running from September 5-7 at Vicarage Farm. The festival has a line up including The Dualers, Dub Pistols, Dreadzone and more. The venue has a capacity of 4,000 people. The festival’s fifth outing will feature five stages, featuring a range of music from dub, ska, reggae, and jungle, to house, disco, funk, breakbeat and everything in-between.   2. Hat Fair - This street performance and outdoor arts festival will take place between July 5 and 7. This family friendly festival, first founded in 1974, was inspired by the people, heritage and public spaces within the city of Winchester. The charity, ‘Play To the Crowd’ now funds the festival ensuring free entry to attend on Friday and Saturday. For more information visit hatfair.co.uk/.
  3. Winchester Comedy Festival: Summer Gala 2024 - This show is an evening of stand up comedy including a line-up of Zoe Lyons, Jonny Pelham, Julian Deane, and Tom Deacon.   4. Heritage Open Days - The festival will be taking place from September 6-15 with the theme of ‘Routes, Networks and Connections’ celebrating the movement of people and ideas throughout time. For more information on their 2024 programme visit winchesterheritageopendays.org. 
  5. Park Yoga - Winchester City Council has partnered with park yoga at Garrison Ground in Bar End Road. These sessions take place on Sundays between 9.30am and 10.30am until Sunday September 22.
