A WINCHESTER estate agent has moved to a unit four times larger than its previous one, just around the corner.
Winkworth have moved from Southgate Street onto the High Street, in the former Hamptons branch.
The new office means that the sales and lettings teams can work in the same building. They made the move on April 15.
Managing director Bill Jarvis, who has been a Winkworth franchisee for 20 years, said: “We had our sales and lettings teams in two different places before because the building around the corner wasn't big enough. It was just 500 square feet which is tiny. This is 1,900 square feet to put it in perspective.

“So the two teams never really worked together and we wanted everyone in the same place. The lease came to an end of the last space so we decided we would find somewhere big enough for both teams.”
He added: “It has been really good so far, we really like it. Footfall is great because we have more people walking past. You don't get quite so many people parked outside. In Southgate Street, people would wait at the traffic lights and see us but footfall is the most important thing.”
The office currently employs nine people and they cover, as well as Winchester itself, as far north as the A303, west to Hursley, east to the Meon Valley and south to Chandler's Ford.
They are based at 72 High Street. For more details, visit winkworth.co.uk/estate-agents/winchester.
