A WINCHESTER charity, which supports adults with learning disabilities, recently held its annual plant fair.

Winchester Go LD's event was at Upper Farm, in Headbourne Worthy on Wednesday, May 8.

The plant fair brought a wide selection of specialist plant growers from Hampshire offering a huge choice of herbaceous plants, shrubs with particular emphasis on colour and shape, climbers, roses and herbs.

Organised by Winchester Go LD’s fundraising committee, the event is a key fundraiser for the charity that enables adults with learning disabilities in the Winchester area.

The fair was opened by the charity’s patron, Lady Portal (Louisa) MBE DL.  There were talks and gardening tips by expert gardener Gillian Taylor including: more colour for less work, perfect plants for sustainable gardening and let’s talk about roses.

Chair of the fundraising committee Ros Nell said: “We were thrilled with the huge turn out and an even greater selection of stalls this year. With six plant nurseries and more than 40 stall holders. We were delighted that we had well in excess of 600 people attending.”
