A ROMSEY man has been charged with theft of a bronze statue of 'huge sentimental' value to the owner.
The artwork portraying a girl with a foal was taken from a property at Emery Down near Lyndhurst last month., burglary and criminal damage.
James Robert Wood, 33, of Cutforth Way, was arrested on Friday, May 10 and appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 13.
He has been charged with the theft of a bronze statue and bicycle from addresses in Emery Down in April.
At the time of the theft the police said it was of 'sentimental value'.
Wood has also been charged with burglary and criminal damage at a property in Fordingbridge in August 2023.
He has been remanded on conditional bail, to next appear at the same court on Saturday, July 27.
