LynchPin Theatre in Godalming is set to debut 'The Vegan Tigress' in Petersfield later this month.
This comedy is the creation of Claire Parker and focuses on the life of a 19th-century fairy tale author who unwittingly calls forth a perturbed phantom—the mother of a rejected suitor from the writer's past.
Claire Parker's piece is infused with the essence of Mary De Morgan, a prominent writer and progenitor of fairy tales, born in London in 1850. De Morgan was known especially for challenging expected outcomes in her stories for children.
She was a frequent participant in literary gatherings, often reading her tales to the children of famed authors like Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Rudyard Kipling.
A formidable phantom hailing from the her past propels her to reconsider her narrative as she stands on the brink of transformative experiences.
Edie Campbell and Claire Parker perform the play's actions, brought to life under the directorial command of Tracy Collier.
The doors of Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery will open for the world premiere at 7pm on May 23.
Tickets can be obtained by calling 01730 262601 or via www.petersfieldmuseum.co.uk/whats-on.
