A D-DAY commemoration evening will be taking place in Winchester next month.

The event will be at Worthies Sports and Social Club at Loader Close, Kings Worthy on Tuesday, June 4 at 7pm. The evening, hosted by the Worthies Branch of The Royal British Legion hopes to host up to 150 guests.

The evening will include a D-Day quiz, a World War Two veteran-led question and answer session and World War Two reenactment players in full uniform.

The Normandy Invasion took place during World War Two, launched in June 1944, now 80 years ago.

In addition to UK soldiers, D-day forces included sailors, soldiers and airmen from the USA, Canada, Australia, France and others. 

Donations will be collected for the Royal British Legion on the night. The event is free to attend.
