Residents of Winchester and surrounding areas can begin to shed their umbrellas and dust off their sunglasses as the sun has finally arrived.
Blue skies and dry weather meant a lot of members of the public went to the cathedral grounds to take in the sunshine.
According to provisional statistics from the Met Office, we experienced our sixth wettest April since statistics began back in 1836, which makes the sight of the sun even more delightful for the people of Winchester.

Paul Iseman, a Winchester resident said: “It makes me feel great, I mean I love the sun and who doesn’t want Vitamin-D.”
Charlotte Acunin, who works on the cathedral grounds told us: “I feel absolutely amazing, alive and brilliant.”
More showers are expected throughout May the Met Office has explained, but the temperatures will continue to rise over the weekend with highs of 22 degrees this Saturday and Sunday.
