WINCHESTER Round Table recently visited a German town twinned with the city to enjoy its annual beer festival.
Giessen, in Germany, also has a Round Table and Winchester chairman Joe Spencer recently gave them a set of tea cups.
He said: “As part of fostering international relationships and spreading peace and goodwill, we joined Giessen Round Table at the town's annual beer fest.

“As part of this, we actually met the Mayor of Giessen and passed on our greetings on behalf of the City of Winchester. In addition, Winchester Round Table has an old tea set gifted to us some 50 years ago by I believe the city of Winchester.
“We thought it would be a nice idea to gift part of this set of tea cups to the Mayor of Giessen to look after and reunite with us one day in the future.”
