A SLIGHTLY wet Bank Holiday weekend had the latest open days at Twyford Waterworks.
The attraction was open on Sunday, May 5 and Monday, May 6, giving people the chance to see how drinking water has been pumped from deep within the Hampshire Downs for more than 120 years.
Visitors saw the Hathorn Davey steam pumping engine at work utilising steam from the Babcock and Wilcox boiler.

An 1895 Crossley gas engine and other smaller pumps were in operation.
Lime Kilns and water softening works, including the hydraulic engines were working.
People could also explore a nature trail, industrial railway demonstration, visiting exhibits and displays.
Organiser Matthew Feldwick said: "Over the two days just under 1,000 visitors were welcomed to the Waterworks, and they enjoyed everything on offer plus a wide range of visiting exhibitors, with everything from full-size and miniature traction engines in steam, through to cars, tractors and military vehicles.
"Despite the rain on Monday the 500 visitors all had a great day, with plenty to see under cover. Many visitors came as part of the Friends of King Alfred Buses Running Day, with a half-hourly bus service all day from Winchester."
The next open day will be on Sunday June 2.
