A new student-run choir from the University of Winchester, is gearing up for its biggest performance yet.
The university's ShowChoir will perform alongside the Encore Choirs at an event dubbed On With The Show, set to take place on Sunday, May 19, at the city’s Theatre Royal.
Both choirs are under the leadership of Josh Robinson, a vocal coach at the university and former Performing Arts programme student.
The show promises a diverse range of uplifting songs from multiple genres, including pop, rock, musical theatre and classical.
"The choirs are in full rehearsal mode for what will be our biggest and most exciting performance yet," said Mr Robinson.
"Performing in the Theatre Royal is a dream come true for us. We’re going to put on a truly inspiring show and make a really special event."
Dr Vicky Feldwick, who heads the Music Centre at the University of Winchester, said: “Student leaders have been in training all year for this and will be conducting and playing on the day. The students in the choir will be getting amazing experiences of performing on a professional stage to a local audience.”
Tickets for the event are available for purchase on the Theatre Royal website.
