A WINCHESTER pub has won a coveted national award.
The Queen Inn, in Kingsgate Road, won the Beer Pub of the Year award at Greene King's Night of Excellence Awards.
The pub won for its range of cask and keg beers. It has an extensive range of real ales alongside an excellent choice of draught beers including lager.
The Queen Inn also has an on-site microbrewery complete with four fermenting vessels.
The pub is operated by Iain Warren and Jenny Small. The couple also operate The Willow Tree in Durngate which also serves beers from the Queen Inn Pub and Microbrewery.

The Night of Excellence Awards celebrate the success of licensees and the businesses they run in partnership with Greene King Pub Partners.
They comprise of 14 awards ranging from Community Pub of the Year to Entertainment Pub of the Year, which are all sponsored by key suppliers to the pub sector and well-known brands such as Molson Coors, Coca-Cola and Bacardi.
This year, the awards were held at a grand ceremony and dinner hosted at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire, for the second year in a row.
The awards event was attended by more than 140 licensees from across the country who work with Greene King Pub Partners as well as representatives from the hospitality and pub sector including trade bodies, business leaders and more.
Iain Warren and Jenny Small, licensees of The Queen Inn, said: “As a pub and microbrewery that that really prides itself on the quality and selection of its beer, we are delighted to have won Beer Pub of the Year at The Night of Excellence Awards.
