MINOR amendments to a Test Valley Gypsy caravan site were unanimously permitted by a planning committee.
Nathan Taylor's application, at Woodington Road in East Wellow, was initially granted in 2021.
It was brought back to Test Valley Borough Council's southern area planning committee on April 23 due to changes in nitrate mitigation.
The planning officers' report said: “Previously, a proposed mitigation strategy comprising the installation of a package treatment plant onsite and associated wetland was proposed to ensure the development achieves nutrient neutrality. However, an alternative scheme combining the installation of a package treatment plant onsite with the purchasing of TVBC credits from the strategic mitigation scheme at Roke Manor Farm has subsequently been identified.

“The development is considered acceptable and in accordance with the relevant policies of the TVBRLP (local plan) and NPPF (national planning police framework), subject to the completion of a legal agreement prior to the issuing of planning permission securing the proposed mitigation measures to achieve nutrient neutrality and avoidance of recreational pressure on the New Forest SPA.”
Cllr Gordon Bailey questioned the accuracy of a table included in the report which listed the other Gypsy caravan sites. Planning officer Graham Melton said: “It was not my intention to exclude any sits. This is a remote pitch. There's no prospect of it dominating the existing settled community.”
The application was unanimously approved.
