A WOMAN was found dead in her home after an overdose of prescribed drugs, an inquest heard.

Blair Swan-Miller, 62, of Bent Street, Stockbridge, died on November 24, 2022.

The inquest, on Wednesday, April 24 at Winchester Coroners’ Court, heard that Ms Blair Swan-Miller had a history of back pain and depression.

A post-mortem by consultant pathologist Dr Adnan Al-Badri found the cause of death was respiratory depression, caused by high levels of prescribed drugs in her blood.

Ms Swan-Miller’s daughter, Winter Swan-Miller told the inquest that her mother was her best friend.

Speaking via video link, she said: “She was amazing, she was the best person in the whole world. I have always lived with her, and we travelled everywhere, we had just got back from Benidorm. It was after that she left me.”

She added that the night before her mother’s body was discovered everything had been normal saying that the two had been joking around and that there was no visible indication that anything was out of the ordinary.

The inquest heard that Ms Swan-Miller found her mother unresponsive in her bed at approximately 11am. She then called the emergency services and went to their landlord for help.

Ms Swan-Miller’s daughter stated that she did not believe her mother had taken her own life, saying: “She did not do this on purpose. She would not have left me.”

Area coroner Jason Pegg gave the cause of death as misadventure.

Speaking to Ms Swan-Miller’s daughter, he offered his condolences, saying: “I hope there is someone you can talk to.”
