NEW roadworks have been announced for North Baddesley - despite long-standing gas work still not being completed.
Southern Gas will be carrying out work on Rownhams Road over night for four nights from Tuesday, April 30 to Friday, May 3.
The work take place between 7pm and 6am. According to One.Network, the work will be carried out with multi-way signals being used.
It is being carried out in conjunction with Southern Gas work on Rownhams Lane.
Discussing the work on Facebook, Hampshire County Councillor of Romsey Rural Nick Adams-King said: “I've had a few messages about the roadworks Southern Gas are proposing on Rownhams Road in Baddesley, in addition to their long standing work on Rownhams Lane.

“I queried why the works on Rownhams Road were going ahead while the gas works on Rownhams Lane were still in place and HCC had initially prohibited gas work elsewhere until the Rownhams Lane works were completed.
“Apparently, the Rownhams Road work is for a connection to a business who are losing custom as a result of not have a gas supply, so it's therefore deemed urgent.
“Highways have therefore issued a permit to control the work (which could otherwise be done without restriction under emergency rules. HCC have required that the Rownhams Road works be confined to nighttime, with work limited to 7pm to 6am for no more than 4 nights from April 30 to May 3.
“Not ideal, but hopefully better than having both in place during the daytime and particularly rush hour.”
The Southern Gas work on Rownhams Lane started on April 3. It is scheduled to end by May 17.
