A CHURCH in Ampfield has been vandalised, with lead stolen from the roof.
St Mark’s Church, in Winchester Road, Ampfield, was targeted between Tuesday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 17.
This is the second time in five years that the church has been targeted, with lead previously being stolen from the roof in 2019.
A police spokesperson told the Advertiser: “We received a report that some lead was stolen from the roof of St Mark's Church on Winchester Road, Ampfield, at some point between April 8 and April 18.

“If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please call 101 quoting reference 44240162647.”
A post on the Friends of St Mark’s, Ampfield Facebook page said: “We are sad to report that between Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th April the lead was stolen from St Mark’s roof.
“If anyone saw anything suspicious please let us know.
“We live in a broken world, and we pray for those who are driven to break the law and for those who struggle with the consequences”.
