A TV quiz champion has spoken at a meeting of a Hamshire WI group.
Kevin Ashman, known as one of the Eggheads on the Channel 5 TV show, met members of the Catherington Women’s Institute earlier this month.
Held at All Saint’s Church Hall it was the first time that Kevin, who was born and raised and still lives in Winchester, had spoken to a WI Group. He said that he accepted the invitation after he met some members at the Chichester Festival Theatre.

While at the event, the quiz-show legend said that appearing on Eggheads has led him to be recognised in some odd places around the world. He also discussed his travels in the industry.
The WI heard all about his early life and how he succeeded in winning major competitions, including Mastermind, Brain of Britain, Brain of Brains, and more.
Kevin is an avid watcher of University Challenge and concluded by saying there had been so many good players coming through since the pandemic and that we should take note of them, because they were going to be our ‘future leaders’.
