THE Hampshire Chronicle has launched a new feature using our unrivalled archive of news photographs over the decades.
The invaluable photo archive, with hundreds of glass negatives, is being cared for by Hampshire Cultural Trust at Bar End.
These photos show snippets of life in Winchester from the 1940s and 1950s.
We include images from country shows, a Red Cross volunteer at St Paul's Hospital in 1948 in the dawn of the NHS, and photos from the Winnall Fete, thought to have been held at Bar End.
The Chronicle would also love to see any readers’ old photos; send by email to newsdesk@ hampshirechronicle.co.uk.
