In her letter published in the edition of April 11, city councillor Caroline Horrill asks where the 900 new homes currently earmarked for the Sir John Moore Barracks site will be located.
It may have escaped her notice that if the sensible course of using publicly owned land for a new hospital is agreed, a large publicly owned site at Romsey Road, within easy walking distance of the City Centre will become available for development for social housing and traffic from 900 new homes will not have to use an already inadequate Andover Road, by then redirected through Kings Barton, to access the city.
