THE outcome of a meeting by civic chiefs to discuss the future of a city centre pub is still unclear.
As previously reported, Winchester City Council's licensing sub-committee considered the police's request for a licence review of The Broadway pub, on the corner of Colebrook Street and The Broadway, on Thursday, April 11.
This was after two reported assaults outside the premises in January of this year.
The meeting was held in private session due to the ongoing police investigation, with the result to be announced publicly. However, the full outcome of the sub-committee is still unknown.

A council spokesperson said: “Following today’s Sub-Committee meeting, a new permanent change has been made to the conditions of The Broadway’s premises licence.”
However, the council has refused to comment further on what was discussed or decided at the meeting.
Cllr Brian Laming, sub-committee chairman, declined to comment when contacted.
