A TWYFORD church is welcoming a folk rock musical performance next week.
St Mary’s Church, Church Lane, will be opening its doors to Kate Stables, from the band This is The Kit, on Friday, April 19.
Kate last performed as a guest at the church with Laura Veirs last autumn, where she expressed her wish to perform there again for her home audience.
This Is The Kit has more than 350,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with latest single Sensations in the Dark. This year, Kate will also be performing in Paris, Porto and Dublin as well as Glastonbury festival.

Kate is not the only artist to perform at the church. Last week Mercury prize-nominated singer-song writer John Bramwell, formerly of alternative rock band The Kloot, performed at St Mary’s in his solo venture.
Future artists booked to perform at St Mary’s include Martin Simpson, Martin Carthy, Josh Rouse and Robyn Hitchcock.
The church is also notable for having hosted American founding father Benjamin Franklyn in his day.
Tickets to future events can be found by searching for St Mary’s Church, Twyford on the Bands In Town website.
