AN event offering a chance for shoppers to rethink their habits and join the "preloved revolution" is returning this week.

Worth The Weight, the UK's largest kilo sale, will pitch up in the Winchester Guildhall on Saturday, April 13, from 11am.

Nine tonnes of handpicked vintage and pre-owned stock will adorn 60 rails. Early bird entry to the sale costs £3 and £2 afterwards with the doors closing at 5pm.

The Sheffield-based roaming kilo was founded in 2018 as a way of fighting fast fashion.

Since then, it has visited cities across the south including Salisbury, Bournemouth and Southampton.

Chris Davies, Worth The Weight organiser, said: “We’re noticing a change in shopper demographic during the events, our events have seen families of all ages coming together to help support the sustainable clothing industry.”

Winter coats, knitwear, ladies and men’s fashions and accessories will be on offer for £20 per kilo with prices starting from £1. Heavier items will be capped at £20.

The trend of sustainable fashion and shopping second-hand is expected to increase dramatically this year.

A spokesperson for Worth The Weight said: "With the cost of living going up and worries about climate change, shoppers are making more of a commitment to not only to save the environment, but save a few pounds by ditching fast fashion and opting for a preloved approach."
