A security alert is affecting the railway in Winchester and across the South due to an incident at Basingstoke, South Western Railway has reported.
On the morning of Wednesday, April 3, all train lines at Basingstoke are currently blocked. Disruption was initially expected until 11am, but this has since been revised to 3pm.
South Western Railway has said that train services running through the station may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

A post on SWR's website has said: "We have been informed of a security alert at Basingstoke. This means that all lines are blocked and the station is currently closed.
"For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."

Police are currently on the scene and the public have been told that they aren't allowed to cross across Alencon Link close to the station.
Train and bus passengers have congregated near to The Malls while waiting for public transport to resume.
Stagecoach South posted on its X page, saying: "We are unable to serve the Railway station at the moment, for all buses please make your way to the bus station, we will restart serving the bus station as soon as possible."
