A Churchyard Cleanup will be taking place at St. Stephen's, Sparsholt on Saturday, April 27 from 10am to 1pm. All volunteers will be warmly welcomed with their garden equipment, while elevenses and lunch will be provided.
The National Pony Society is inviting people to Sparsholt Equine Centre on Sunday, April 21 for an open Spring show. The show is a qualifier for the NPS Winter and Summer championship show, as well as the Malvern and South West Pony Association Summer championships 2024. M&M and plaited in hand, and ridden classes.
The show is open to all, with the schedule and entry form available on the NFED website.
WINCHESTER Go LD, a charity supporting adults with learning difficulties, has announced the date for this year’s garden and craft fair. The event returns to Upper Farm in Headbourne Worthy on Wednesday, May 8.
The fair in Down Farm Lane will be open from 10am to 4pm. Visitors are invited to explore the garden and browse the plant nurseries, artisan and homeware products, fashion accessories and food stalls. Coffee and homemade lunch will be available in the marquee.
Entry costs £5. No dogs are allowed and parking will be available.
ITCHEN Abbas Primary School is organising a volunteer day for the morning of Saturday, April 20. Anyone who would like to help with ‘odd jobs’ such as gardening and repairs should contact the school at admin@itchenabbas.org.uk to get involved.
LOVEDON Lane Burial Ground in Kings Worthy will be closed for around two days for repairs and resurfacing of the roadway. The maintenance was scheduled to start on Tuesday, April 2 but this is weather dependent.
EQUIPMENT damaged by the fire in September 2022 at Fraser Road Play Area in Kings Worthy will be repaired and replaced in April.
Works are scheduled to start on Monday, April 15 and should take around two weeks. The park will remain open throughout most of the work but the play area will need to close for around two days for surfacing works.
The timings are weather dependent so Kings Worthy Parish Council will update residents if there are any changes to the plans.
THE Friends of Sparsholt School are urging school parents to save the date for a morning yoga session on Wednesday, April 24. Tickets will be on sale soon.
SPARSHOLT Music’s next concert will be on Sunday, April 14 at 3pm in the Memorial Hall. Tickets cost £10 and include tea and a slice of home made cake for after the concert. The group holds three concerts a year with the summer event falling on Sunday, August 18.
Tickets are available a few weeks before the concert from the village shop or by emailing sparsholtmusic@gmail.com.
