A WINCHESTER man has been found not guilty after facing a sexual assault charge.
As previously reported, Denis Wilson McDonald, 73, of Trussell Crescent in Weeke, was charged on October 4 following reports of a sexual assault on November 29 2022 in Winchester.
The alleged assault took place between 2pm and 2.10pm in City Road in Winchester. A woman, in her 20s was walking by the Ra and Rb bus stops, when she was allegedly approached by a man who touched her inappropriately over her clothing

Mr McDonald denied the sexual assault charge of allegedly touching the young woman in a sexual manner without her consent, and he did not reasonably believe that she was consenting.
A trial was held at Winchester Crown Court, where it was heard on Tuesday, March 26, with Daniel Wright prosecuting, and Simon Walters acting as defence.
The jury was shown CCTV footage of Mr McDonald before and after the alleged offence took place.
On Wednesday, March 27, the jury delivered a verdict of not guilty on all charges.
