A MAJOR Winchester road has now closed for two weeks for repairs.
As previously reported, Stanmore Lane shut today, Monday March 25, and will remain closed for 16 days to allow for roadworks to be completed in the area.
Repairs to the carriageway will be undertaken, with the road closure due to end on Wednesday, April 17.
The road will be closed from 8am until 4pm on weekdays, with the road reopening outside of these working hours.

Despite the closure, access for residents and businesses will be maintained wherever possible, with pedestrian access along the road available throughout the planned works.
A signed diversion route will be in place throughout the closure.
A spokesperson for Hampshire County Council said: "Hampshire County Council’s Highways team is carrying out road repairs on a significant stretch of Stanmore Lane in Winchester.
"This essential work, which started on March 25, requires the temporary closure of the road for up to 16 days to enable the work to be carried out safely and efficiently. The working times are 8am to 4pm on weekdays with the road re-opened outside of these hours.
"Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, but a diversion route may need to be used depending on where the works are taking place. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
