Inspired by volunteering at a Winchester half-marathon, university student Lauren Harvey is now preparing for the London Marathon.
While studying Event Management at the University of Winchester, Lauren helped competitors finish their races. Subsequently, she completed the Winchester Half-Marathon herself in just 2 hours and 14 minutes.
Committed to supporting Treloar’s - a school and college for disabled students, for whom she organised a major fundraising event, Lauren aims to complete the London Marathon's 26-mile course in approximately four hours to raise funds.

Ms Harvey said: "Watching the runners finish and seeing how happy they looked I thought ‘Maybe I could do that.
"Last year I started working at Treloar’s and after seeing the excellent work they do for their students I thought it would be a great idea to sign up for the Treloar Trust London Marathon Team!"
Amy Bennett, events and community manager at Treloar’s said: “Lauren has been a great addition to our team, not only is she incredibly hard-working, but she is also chosen to take on her own fundraising challenge for Treloar’s, which we are so grateful for!"
The 23-year-old has been in training since January 1, using an online guide to navigate the challenging distance.
