SOUTH Wonston Village Cinema will be holding a screening of Scrapping on Saturday, April 20.
The film stars Lola Campbell and Harris Dickinson and follows 12-year-old Georgie, who lives by her wits end following the death of her mother. Avoiding social services, her life is turned upside down when her estranged father suddenly arrives.
Two screenings will take place at South Wonston Village Hall – a matinee at 2.30pm and an evening showing 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 each and can be purchased from the door. The cinema is cash only. Tea, coffee and ice cream will be available during the interval.
ST MARY’S Church, in Micheldever, is hosting a plant sale and coffee morning on May 24.
Running from 9.30am to midday in the churchyard, attendees will be able to enjoy coffee, homemade cakes, biscuits, and bacon sandwiches.
SCOTS Tots, the Sutton Scotney baby and toddler group, is hosting a lunch club at the Warren Centre, Micheldever Station, on Tuesday, June 4.
Taking place from 11.30am to 12.45pm, families will be invited to bring their own sandwiches and enjoy lunch together. Unlimited hot drinks, fruit and maybe a cake or two will be on offer.
Spaces must be prebooked to cover the cost of the venue hire; they cost £5 per family/childminder. All money raised will go towards another lunch club meeting and the running of Scots Tots.
MICHELDEVER Variety Group will be holding its Play In a Week workshop from April 2 to April 6. This year’s play is Matilda and is aimed at children aged between eight and 12.
The workshop will be running from 10am to 4pm each day, with a showtime of 7pm on April 6. The workshop costs £100, with a £30 deposit to secure a child’s space. For more information or to register interest, email peter.okeefe@mac.com.
SOUTH Wonston Sustainability is holding a swap shop on Monday, May 6.
The event, Give, Swap, Buy, will take place at South Wonston Pavilion from 11am to 1pm. Table spaces are currently available to book by emailing swsbiodiversitygroup@gmail.com. Table sizes include round 120cm diameter tables, 185cm by 70cm tables, 122cm by 70cm tables, and 92cm by 78cm tables.
THE Half Moon and Spread Eagle Freehouse in Micheldever is hosting a quiz night on Tueday, March 26.
Teams will consist of a maximum of 4 people, with a £5 entry fee per team. Half of the money will go to the winning team, while the other half will go to the Young Lives Vs. Cancer Charity.
Nibbles will be available at half time. Tables are limited, so those who want to tae part are asked to book in advance.
THE Dove Inn, in Micheldever Station, is looking for a new chef to join its team. Successful applicants will work alongside the head chef and maintain kitchen operations, as well as refine their culinary skills.
