A trio of new planning applications have revealed the future of an empty city centre department store.
As previously reported, Debenhams, which has been empty since 2021, is to be re-let to a trio of restaurants, with it being believed that Five Guys, Nando’s and Pizza Express would move into the ground floor.
Three planning applications, submitted to Winchester City Council by Firstplan, have confirmed that Five Guys and Nando’s will be moving into the space.
It has not been confirmed if Pizza Express will be in the third restaurant space.
The applications are regarding external alterations and the erection of signage for the Five Guys and Nando’s.

This includes installing a red aluminium fascia for the Five Guys restaurant, and a black stained timber fascia for Nando’s, as well as a roller shutter mechanism.
The planning statements say: “The application proposals seek to make minor alterations and the associated signage to the unit to facilitate the occupation of the unit by its ingoing operator(s).”
